Passport and Visa Requirements

• Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended departure date.
• Ensure your passport has sufficient blank pages for immigration stamps.
• Most nationalities require visas to enter Uganda and Rwanda.
• We highly recommend applying for the East Africa Tourist Visa, which allows multiple entries into Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya using a single visa (where applicable).
• Please check the latest visa requirements for your nationality before travelling.

Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Guidelines

To protect both visitors and endangered primates, all trekkers must follow the regulations established by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and Rwanda Development Board.

Important Guidelines

• Minimum trekking age is 15 years.
• Follow all instructions provided by your ranger guide.
• Maintain a minimum distance of 7 metres from the primates whenever possible.
• Do not touch or feed the animals.
• Flash photography is prohibited.

Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing Afriquest Travels Ltd. These Terms and Conditions are designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized safari experience for all our guests. By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted the following terms.

Booking Confirmation

• A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from Afriquest Travels.
• All bookings are subject to availability of accommodation, park permits, transportation, and other safari services.
• A booking confirmation and invoice will be issued once your reservation has been secured.

Payment Terms

• A deposit of 20% of the total safari cost is required to confirm your booking.
• For safaris that include gorilla or chimpanzee trekking permits, additional payments may be required immediately to secure permits, as they are subject to availability.
• The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival.
• Bookings made within 30 days of travel require full payment at the time of confirmation.
• Payments may be made by bank transfer or any other payment methods approved by Afriquest Travels Ltd.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Cancellation charges are as follows:

Important: Gorilla trekking permits, chimpanzee permits, golden monkey permits, visas and other third-party services may be subject to separate cancellation policies and may be non-refundable once purchased.

Changes to Bookings

• Any requested amendments are subject to availability.
• Additional costs resulting from itinerary changes will be the responsibility of the guest.
• Afriquest Travels reserves the right to substitute accommodation of a similar standard should circumstances beyond our control require it.

  Travel Documents

Guests are responsible for ensuring they possess:

• A passport valid for at least six months beyond the travel date.
• Required visas.
• Vaccination certificates where applicable.
• Travel insurance documents.
• Any additional documentation required by immigration authorities.

Afriquest Travels cannot be held responsible for denied entry resulting from incomplete or invalid travel documentation.

Health and Fitness

Some safari activities require moderate to strenuous physical activity.

Guests participating in gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, and nature walks should be in good physical condition.

Participants who are unwell with contagious illnesses, including flu-like symptoms, may not be permitted to participate in primate trekking in accordance with wildlife conservation regulations.

Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking

Primate trekking permits are issued by the relevant wildlife authorities and remain subject to their regulations.

Guests must:

• Be at least 15 years of age.
• Follow all ranger instructions.
• Maintain the required viewing distance from wildlife.
• Avoid flash photography.
• Respect all conservation rules.

Afriquest Travels cannot guarantee the location or behaviour of wild animals.

Wildlife Viewing

Wildlife lives in its natural environment and sightings can never be guaranteed.

Although our experienced guides maximize every opportunity for wildlife viewing, animal movements are unpredictable.

Accommodation

Accommodation is based on availability at the time of booking.

Should any advertised property become unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, Afriquest Travels reserves the right to substitute accommodation with another property of a similar category and standard.

Transportation

Our safaris are conducted using well-maintained safari vehicles operated by experienced professional driver-guides.

While every effort is made to adhere to the published itinerary, delays caused by road conditions, weather, traffic, border formalities, or other unforeseen circumstances may occur.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and should include:

• Medical expenses
• Trip cancellation and interruption
• Personal accident cover
• Loss or theft of baggage
• Personal liability

Guests are responsible for arranging adequate insurance before travelling.

Liability

Afriquest Travels Ltd acts only as an agent for accommodation providers, airlines, transport companies, national parks and other service providers.

While every reasonable effort is made to ensure your safety and enjoyment, Afriquest Travels shall not be held liable for:

Photography

Guests are welcome to take photographs throughout the safari.

However:

• Flash photography is prohibited during gorilla and chimpanzee trekking.
• Permission should always be sought before photographing local people.
• Drone photography is prohibited in most national parks unless official authorization has been obtained.

Force Majeure

Afriquest Travels shall not be liable for failure to perform any obligation due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

• Natural disasters
• Floods
• Earthquakes
• Wildfires
• Pandemics
• Government actions
• Border closures
• Civil unrest
• Airline disruptions

Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to provide suitable alternatives.

Governing Law
