After an early breakfast, drive towards Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda’s most important Shoebill locations.
Board a traditional motorized canoe and navigate through the papyrus channels with a specialist local birding guide.
The primary target is the Shoebill Stork, while other potential sightings include African Jacana, African Fish Eagle, kingfishers, herons, egrets, cormorants and various wetland species.
After lunch, return to Entebbe for an afternoon birding session around the botanical gardens or Lake Victoria shoreline.

Depart early for Lake Mburo National Park, stopping at suitable birding locations along the way.

After breakfast in Mgahinga, depart for Lake Bunyonyi, travelling through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda. Enjoy beautiful views of terraced hills, volcanic landscapes and local communities along the way. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring its scenic islands and surrounding hills while enjoying opportunities for photography and birdwatching. Spend the evening relaxing by the lake and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

After breakfast, depart Lake Bunyonyi and drive north towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying spectacular views of southwestern Uganda’s rolling hills, terraced farms and rural communities. Continue towards the park with a lunch stop en route. Upon arrival, enter the park and enjoy an afternoon game drive, with opportunities to spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs and with luck lions. Proceed to your lodge for check-in, relaxation and dinner.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring the savannah in search of elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kob, warthogs and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading to the Mweya Jetty for the afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise. Cruise along the channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George, with excellent opportunities to see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and numerous waterbirds along the shores. After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive north towards Kibale Forest National Park, enjoying scenic views of the crater lakes, tea plantations and rolling countryside. Arrive in the Kibale area around midday and enjoy lunch before checking into your lodge. In the afternoon, take a guided nature and birding walk around the forest edge or nearby community areas, with opportunities to spot monkeys and a variety of forest bird species. Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge and preparing for the following day’s chimpanzee trekking or specialist forest birding experience.

Start the day with an early breakfast before heading to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a briefing and your chimpanzee trekking experience. Enter the rainforest with experienced guides and trackers to search for habituated chimpanzee communities, while also watching for red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and diverse forest bird species. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, proceed to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided birding and community walk, exploring the wetlands, observing primates and birdlife, and interacting with the local community to learn about traditional lifestyles, crafts and conservation initiatives. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.
Overnight: Kibale Forest Lodge

After an early breakfast, depart Kibale Forest National Park and begin the journey north towards Murchison Falls National Park, keeping the day focused on birding. Travel through Uganda’s diverse landscapes, making selected stops along forest edges, wetlands, farmlands and open countryside to observe different bird species and photograph them. Enjoy lunch en route before continuing towards Murchison Falls. Upon arrival, enter the park and undertake an afternoon birding and wildlife drive, looking out for savannah species alongside elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and other wildlife. Continue to your lodge in the evening for check-in, dinner and relaxation.
Overnight: Horn Bill Bush lodge

Begin before sunrise with a dedicated birding and wildlife drive.
Search for savannah species while watching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions and antelopes.
In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls.
The river provides excellent opportunities for waterbirds and photography.
