Destinations: Entebbe – Kibale Forest National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
This itinerary is designed to showcase Uganda’s most iconic wildlife and primate experiences within eight days while keeping the route practical and minimizing unnecessary backtracking.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your Afriquest Travels driver-guide and transferred to Airport Guest House.
Depending on your arrival time, spend the evening relaxing and preparing for your Uganda primate safari.
Your driver-guide will brief you about the safari route, planned activities, what to carry and general travel arrangements.

After breakfast, depart Entebbe and begin your journey westwards towards Kibale Forest National Park.
Travel through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing local communities, agricultural landscapes and rolling hills. Enjoy selected stops for refreshments, photography and lunch.
Continue towards Fort Portal and the beautiful landscapes surrounding Kibale Forest. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or evening, check in and relax.

After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and guides.
Begin your Chimpanzee Trekking Experience through the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated chimpanzee community.
The trek may take several hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees and the terrain. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend time observing their behaviour, photographing them and learning about their social structure and relationship with the forest ecosystem.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, embark on the Bigodi Community Walk. Accompanied by a local guide, explore the community while learning about traditional livelihoods, local agriculture, crafts and community conservation initiatives.
Return to the lodge in the evening.
Overnight: Kibale Forest Lodge

After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.
Travel through the beautiful landscapes of western Uganda, passing local communities, agricultural areas and rolling countryside.
Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing towards Bwindi.
Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or evening, check in and relax. Your driver-guide will provide a detailed briefing about the following day’s gorilla trekking experience, including appropriate clothing, what to carry and gorilla trekking etiquette.
Overnight: Bweza Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After an early breakfast, proceed to the appropriate Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Headquarters for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
Begin your trek into the ancient Bwindi forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas, weather conditions and terrain.
Once the gorillas are located, spend the designated viewing time observing their behaviour, photographing them and experiencing this exceptional wildlife encounter.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Later in the afternoon, embark on a guided Nature Walk and Bird Watching Experience in Bigodi Community. Explore the lush surroundings while spotting colourful birds, butterflies, trees and other wildlife. Your local guide will share insights into the area’s biodiversity, culture and conservation efforts
Return to the lodge in the evening for relaxation and overnight.

After breakfast, check out from Bweza Lodge and begin the scenic drive towards Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Enjoy spectacular views of the rolling hills, local communities and the Virunga volcanic landscape along the way.
Upon arrival in the Mgahinga area, proceed to Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge for check-in.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge and take some time to relax before embarking on an afternoon Batwa Cultural Experience.
In the afternoon, meet your local Batwa guide and embark on an enriching cultural experience that provides insight into the Batwa people’s traditional relationship with the forest.
Learn about their traditional way of life, including medicinal plants, food gathering, hunting techniques, traditional shelters and forest survival skills. Your guide will share stories about the Batwa’s ancestral heritage and their connection to the forests around Mgahinga.
The experience also includes interaction with the local community, traditional songs, dances and storytelling, providing an authentic cultural encounter while supporting community livelihoods.
After the experience, return to Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge for relaxation and overnight.

After an early breakfast, proceed to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters for registration and briefing.
Begin your Golden Monkey Trekking Experience through the bamboo and montane forests of Mgahinga.
Accompanied by experienced park guides and trackers, explore the forest in search of the endangered golden monkeys. The trek provides an opportunity to experience the unique biodiversity of the Virunga ecosystem.
Once the golden monkeys are located, spend time observing their natural behaviour, including feeding, playing and moving through the forest.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
The remainder of the afternoon can be spent at leisure, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and spectacular scenery.
Overnight: Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe.
Travel through the scenic southwestern countryside, with lunch and selected photography or rest stops along the way.
Continue towards Kampala or Entebbe and arrive in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your 8 Days Uganda Primate Safari.
