Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Theme: Journey north with your first wildlife encounter.
Your professional Afriquest Travels driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe before beginning the journey north towards Murchison Falls National Park.
Enjoy a scenic drive through central Uganda, passing rural villages, farms, and beautiful countryside with comfort stops along the way.
Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be tracked on foot.
Accompanied by experienced rangers, enjoy a guided walking safari through the sanctuary as you search for the endangered southern white rhinos. Learn about Uganda’s rhino conservation programme while observing these magnificent animals at a safe distance in their natural habitat
Lunch in Masindi
Enjoy a delicious lunch at a selected restaurant before continuing your journey.
Afternoon Game Drive
Enter Murchison Falls National Park and begin your first exciting game drive through the northern sector.
Watch for African elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Cape buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, warthogs, and with a bit of luck, lions or the elusive leopard.
Your guide will help you spot wildlife while sharing fascinating information about the park’s diverse ecosystems.

Check into your safari lodge overlooking the Nile or the surrounding wilderness.
Relax before enjoying a delicious dinner under the African sky.

Day 2: Full Day Safari – Game Drive + Nile Boat Cruise and Murchison Falls
Theme: The heart of the adventure wildlife and the powerful waterfall.
Early Breakfast
Start the day with breakfast before heading out for one of Uganda’s finest wildlife experiences.
Morning Game Drive
Explore the famous Buligi Game Tracks and Delta area where wildlife is most active during the cool morning hours.
Look out for lions hunting across the plains, elephants grazing peacefully, buffalo herds, giraffes, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks, hyenas, and numerous bird species including secretary birds and Abyssinian ground hornbills.
The Buligi area offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in East Africa.
Lunch
Return to your lodge or enjoy a picnic lunch before your afternoon excursion.
Victoria Nile Boat Cruise
Board a comfortable safari boat for one of the highlights of your Ugandan adventure.
Cruise upstream along the Victoria Nile while enjoying spectacular wildlife viewing from the water. Large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and countless bird species can be seen along the riverbanks.
The journey ends at the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile forces itself through a narrow seven-metre-wide gorge before plunging approximately 40 metres into the Devil’s Cauldron, creating one of the world’s most dramatic waterfalls.
Optional Activity: Hike to the Top of the Falls
Guests who wish can leave the boat and enjoy a guided hike to the Top of Murchison Falls.
This moderate 45–60-minute hike rewards visitors with breathtaking views of the Nile exploding through the narrow gorge, spectacular photography opportunities, and the unforgettable roar of the falls.
Evening
Return to your lodge for relaxation before dinner.
Optional sundowner drinks can be enjoyed while watching the sunset over the Nile.

This is an excellent chance to photograph giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, and the beautiful savannah landscapes in the soft morning light

Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Drive back through Uganda’s scenic countryside with comfort stops along the way.
